My favorite book at the moment would have to be Frankenstein. Frankenstein contains some of my most favorite genres, which is science fiction and horror. The author of the book is Mary Shelley. Mary Shelley is an English author. Shelley was born in August 30, 1797, in Somers Town, London, United Kingdom and she died February 1, 1851. The book was written in the early eighties, so you could imagine the archaic style of writing in the book. It was a bit hard to get used to at first, but I grew to enjoy it and learn more vocabulary through it.
There are a few misconceptions about the story of Frankenstein that I've noticed. One of the main ones is that the monster itself is not named Frankenstein. It really wasn't given a name, but called monster or beast. Frankenstein is the name of the scientist that created him, Victor Frankenstein. I thought the imagery for the book was extraordinary. It gave me chills and really described well, while letting your imagination do the work.
The message of this novel is pretty clear to me. I believe it is trying to teach that too much knowledge can be dangerous and that we should know our limitations. It is teaching that working with components that you know are dangerous and playing "God" can cause you to lose focus of yourself, like Victor does. You can see how he is consumed by fear and madness throughout the novel.
