In January I went to on a trip to Panama and Costa Rica. It wasn't just any trip, it was a pilgrimage. A pilgrimage is a journey made to a sacred place for a religious reason. I went to Panama for World Youth Day. World Youth Day is an encounter with the pope. He gave us a all a mass and it was a nice time. In Costa Rica we stayed with families in the Neochatechumenal Way who took care of us. They were such nice people. They might have been too nice, not letting us even do our beds or pick up our dishes after we ate.

We spent most of our time on the bus going to different religions sites. On the second day we drove to Panama. There we stayed in a hotel. I ended up in the same room as my best friend. There was a pool there and it was all really nice. I got closer to people during this whole trip, especially this girl I sat next to on the bus and one of my guy friends. I really like when we went to see the pope. Although we slept on the ground and I didn't get to see him so up close, I had so much fun and I was happy. I also liked the day we got to see Kiko Arguello, founder of the Neochatechumenal way, flamingo guitarist, and artist. He talked and then called out if anyone felt the calling to be a priest or a nun. One girl from our group stood up and we all cheered for her. It was extraordinary seeing all of those flags everywhere and so many people speaking in different languages from their different parts of the world. If I could I would relive this experience over and over.
