My favorite anime at the moment is Naruto Shippuden. This anime is very well known. It is one of the more popular anime. It's one of the longest anime I have ever watched with 500 episodes and if you include the first part of the show, there's 720 episodes. The target audience for Naruto is young adults, since it can be gory at times. Naruto is the third-best-selling manga of all time.
One of the biggest reasons why Naruto is my favorite anime is because of how compelling the characters are.You get to watch how each of the characters grow and mature and how they get stronger. Naruto was seen as pitiful at the beginning of the series, being an orphan and having to live on his own, but he worked hard to get admired by his village. People around the village feared him because of something he had in him, so Naruto did anything to get attention and was troublesome. As the show progresses, you get to see Naruto become mature and grow out of that stage. His goal is to prove himself and become the hokage, strongest and most admired ninja in the leaf village. He works hard to get noticed in a better way and it all pays off, although he runs into many conflicts. In many ways, I relate to Naruto, especially in the way he thinks. He wants to bring peace and believes hatred is what makes people harm others. There are also many other compelling characters. It is easy to relate to many of their stories and relate to how human they were brought out. For example, there's Hinata who throughout the show has a crush on Naruto and wants to get noticed by him. There's Sasuke who acts cold, but he has his reasoning, being his tragic past. There's Rock Lee who works extra hard compared to everyone else and it's because of his disability to do ninjutsu, but he just wants to be like everyone else.
Another reason why Naruto is such a great anime is because of how real it is. The reason I believe it is so real is because of how villains are brought out. Most of the villains have their reasons for harming others, it still doesn't justify it, but it's interesting to see their ideas of peace. There's the Akatsuki, who are working to kill jinchuriki, who are ninja that contain tailed beasts. They extract their tailed beasts and are trying to create a bigger and stronger tailed beast. Their reason for this isn't to harm everyone, but to evoke fear. When people are afraid they will listen and follow certain regulations. There are a few of the Akatsuki who have had sad pasts and are "evil" for that. There's Sasori who hates to be kept waiting, because he waited for his parents to come home as a child and was told lies that they would come one day. There's Itachi who did harm to his family t\for the greator good.
Naruto gives a circle of emotion to their audience. Many people have cried at character's deaths and other events. There's also moments when the show has humor. It's easy to get attached to characters and seeing them die is a heartbreak for many. Even the villains are really liked and people felt sad when they died. The audience gets extra hyped when there are fights between characters. It's exciting when two characters fight, and I admire how they're realistic and how the "hero" doesn't always win and sometimes the villain does something unexpected and it puts the audience on edge. One of my favorite fights is the first one because of how memorable it was. Naruto brought out the good in the villain, as he does very often. He is an admirable character for his ability to change people
Naruto has great some great speeches and the characters say many wise things. I have often gotten inspired by what the characters have said. Some examples:
"When people are protecting something truly special to them, they truly can become as strong as they can be."
""The pain of being alone...is not an easy one to bear...why is it...that I can understand your pain? But...I already have many people who are important to me now...and I can't let you hurt any of them...even if I have to kill you!"
"Just shut up for once! What the hell do you know about it?! Huh?! I'm suffering now because I had those ties how on earth could you possibly understand, what it feels like to loose all that?!"
"If you think I'm just a foolish kid ruled by his emotions, that's fine. Following Itachi's path would be childish, the whispering of fools who don't know hatred. If anyone else tries to ridicule the way I live I'll slaughter everyone they ever cared about. And then maybe they'll understand what it's like to taste...a little of my hatred."
"People live their lives bound by what they accept as correct or true . That's how they define "reality". But what does it mean to be "correct or "true" ? Merely vague concepts...their "reality" may all be a mirage. Can we consider them to simply be living in their own world, shaped by their beliefs?"
"You think you're the only ones who matter. You think you can put off death. But that peace made you foolish and thoughtless. If you kill someone, someone else will kill you...this hatred binds us together."
"Those who do not understand true pain, can never understand true peace."
"There probably isn't any meaning in life. Perhaps you can find something interesting to do while you are alive. Like how you found that flower. Like how I found you."
In conclusion, Naruto is one of my favorite anime because of how compelling the characters are. I enjoy how emotional the show is. Naruto is realistic in many ways and that makes it relatable. There also many inspiring moments and wise words spoken in the show.
